Subsequent 25 Presets by John Meding

Price

$45.00

This bundle includes all of John Meding's personal synth bass presets for the Moog Subsequent 25 synthesizer. It includes 6 of John's go-to presets that he's used over the years for live performances and studio recordings.

A sustain pedal (like the Yamaha FC5) is recommended but not required for this patch bundle. For two of the presets, John like to run the Moog through his guitar pedalboard to utilize some of his wet fx from the Strymon BigSky and TimeLine. John's Strymon reverb and delay presets are sold separately and can be found on his artist page.

Preset Details

SUB WITH SUSTAIN
My most frequently used Moog sub bass patch. I pair this patch with a Yamaha FC5 sustain pedal for seamless transition moments. I'll use the pedal to sustain notes, ensuring an easy transition to playing electric bass guitar without losing my transient.

SUB SUS GLIDER
Similar to the above patch used with a sustain pedal, but incorporating a bigger glide time for soaring and sweeping low end movements.

SUB MOD WHL LFO
Primarily used in the studio without a sustain pedal for pulsing/driving rhythmic sub bass, controlled by the MOD WHEEL on the lower left corner of the SUB25 control surface.

SUB GLIDER
A gnarly sub bass tone with a massive glide time for transition moments in various songs and live moments. Opening up the filter cutoff gives you a gnarly, grungy and saturated synth bass tone without the fake and sometime digital or artificial feeling of other bass synthesizers.

PARAPHONIC
One of my all time fave Moog settings, I use this in tandem live with my electric guitar pedalboard, and my Strymon BigSky and TimeLine Presets, and in the studio with a guitar plug in chain. Paraphonic mode on the SUB 25 is enabled for anything from single note mono-phonic melodic support to two-note chordal stabs. By manipulating the mod wheel and filter cutoff during dynamic rises and falls, I can cover the space between creating huge octaved synth lead lines and also chill dark moody pads and textures.

PARA GLIDER
Similar to preset above, but this one has a huge glide time used when I have the liberty to be more free and ambiguous with the subdivisions I am creating from my instrument, and how I am defining time in the moment.
