Captured in the studio with industry-standard microphones, including the Shure™ 545SD and Shure™ SM57, these ToneX Captures include both clean and dirty settings, as well as amp-only versions designed for use with your own cabinets and IRs. Each capture was fine-tuned with input trim set to 7.0 on the ToneX, ensuring optimal gain structure and mix-ready tones.

These premium ToneX amp captures come straight from John Meding’s personal workhorse studio amplifier—the Morgan Abbey from Morgan Custom Shop. A classic Class A cathode-biased EL84 amp, the Morgan Abbey embodies the rich heritage of the vintage British “top boost” design, delivering harmonically rich cleans and dynamic, responsive drive tones.
This collection includes both clean and dirty captures, offering flexibility for use with your own IRs or alternate cabinets. Additionally, we've included fully mic’d captures featuring industry-standard microphones—the Shure™ 545SD and Shure™ SM57—paired with the Celestion™ G12 Vintage 30, one of John’s all-time favorite 1x12 speakers.
