    DD-5 Setting is AWESOME!

Been eager to try Jim's DD-5 setting since I saw it come up on his instagram from time to time. Been looking for some great settings for my Timeline that work outside the typical church world stuff and the DD-5 so far is great! Thanks Jim!

Detalles del ajuste preestablecido

DD-5
My DD-5 preset is exactly what it sounds like: a perfectly crisp digital delay preset for the Strymon TimeLine based on everybody's favorite OG Boss delay pedal. These repeats are stark, with just a hint of early digital tonality and fidelity loss; in contrast to something like a Memory Man, these repeats are much closer to your signal looking at itself in a mirror, with just enough clarity to poke out in a mix but a lovely, cascading fade that doesn't reflect the full digital bandwidth of today's delay units.

Afterneath
The Afterneath preset is a pattern delay based on the  EarthQuaker Devices pedal with the same name. This preset harnesses the power of the TimeLine to create stuttering, distinct reflections that blur and coalesce into stark soundscapes as you play. Guaranteed to take you somewhere more typical delay models won't go!

Blue Jeans
Inspired by the intro of the Lana Del Ray song, "Blue Jeans" this preset is a bright, reflective delay sound with repeats that stutter and slur as they swell in. Responds well to sharp, percussive single notes and raked chord inversions. Sunglasses recommended but not required.

PS-2
This preset is my take on the delay sound based on the Boss PS-2 Digital Pitch Shifter/Delay pedal which has gained "IYKYK" status within shoegaze circles. Similar to my DD-5 or Afterneath presets, this one is a low-bandwidth (compared to today's units) digital delay which rolls off a bit of high end and fidelity as it does its thing. PS-2 is designed to create a swarm of cloudy digital repeats as you strum - a Jazzmaster tremolo is recommended but not required.

SSD-3k
This delay preset is based on the legendary Korg SDD-3000 rack delay unit. I'm very lucky to own an original SDD-3000 unit, so I have spent quite a bit of time dialing in this TimeLine preset to match the unique combination of factors that make that unit magic: a little bit of extra juice from the preamp section, deep digital modulation, and the low fidelity and tonality of early digital chipsets. SDD-3K brings that early digital magic to the Strymon TimeLine, utilizing the boost function as well as deep digital modulation, tone, and grit settings to emulate this iconic delay sound. I hope you love it as much as I do!

SSD-34
This is a copy of my original SDD-3K preset, developed by ear from my own personal Korg SDD-3000 rack unit, but with the Tap Tempo button mapped to 1/4 note repeats. Enjoy this iconic early digital delay emulation, using the TimeLine's available feature set to approximate the SDD-3000's unique preamp, modulation, and early digital fidelity.

SSD-38
This preset is a copy of my original SDD-3K preset, developed by ear from my own personal Korg SDD-3000 rack unit, but with the Tap Tempo button mapped to dotted 1/8 note repeats. Enjoy this iconic early digital delay emulation, using the TimeLine's available feature set to approximate the SDD-3000's unique preamp, modulation, and early digital fidelity.

Viva
A delay preset inspired by Coldplay's NPR Tiny Desk concert performance of their iconic song Viva La Vida. While the "shimmer" effect is more typically associated with reverb, this delay preset utilizes the TimeLine's Ice setting to add large, sharp shimmer particles to your signal at +1 octave up; it's a more pronounced and jagged effect than a typical shimmer reverb, and gives you an excellent option to introduce octave repeats to your performance in a more interesting and oblique way than before. Viva La Shimmer!

Volante
The Volante preset is based on the unique rhythmic delay patterns of the Strymon Volante (inception!). I wanted to recreate those tones without having to buy a whole new pedal, so I spent hours dialing in this preset after spending some time with a friend's Volante. Using the TimeLine's Pattern setting, you can really play around with the way these multi-tap repeats interact with your signal and rhythmic desires - I have it set where I liked it based specifically on the Volante. Experimenting with different patterns (1-16) and Smear settings within the pedal will unlock many new sounds for you to explore and create!

Deluxe Merman
Inspired by my favorite delay pedal, an original 1970s Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man w/ Analogman mods here's a TimeLine preset I cooked up by dialing it in side-by-side with my '70s DMM. For me, this pedal is the GOLD standard, and the delay "sound" that I first fell in love with. From short repeats which modulate and degrade (a'la U2's "A Day Without Me"), to the long, swirling slurry of trails for which the Deluxe Memory Man is often lauded, this preset will help you capture all of the EHX legend's murky mysteries without the expense, upkeep, or fragility of having an original unit on your pedalboard!
